Amid escalating tensions and attacks on foreign students in Kyrgyzstan, Indian authorities have issued a safety advisory urging Indian students to remain indoors. The advisory comes in the wake of violent incidents targeting foreign students, including injuries sustained by Pakistani students in mob violence at their hostel.The Indian Consulate has advised Indian students to stay indoors and contact the Embassy in case of any issues, emphasizing the importance of safety and caution during this period of unrest. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has also stressed the need for students to stay in regular touch with the Embassy to ensure their well-being and security.While reports on social media have suggested casualties among Pakistani students, official confirmation of any deaths is yet to be received. The situation escalated following viral videos of altercations between Kyrgyz and Egyptian students, leading to targeted attacks on hostels housing students from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.The Pakistan embassy has expressed concern over the attacks, highlighting the need for swift action and assistance to ensure the safety of all students affected by the unrest. As tensions remain high, the Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary support to Indian students in Kyrgyzstan.
