In a tragic incident in Moirang, a town in Manipur's Bishnupur district, an elderly man was killed during a rocket-propelled bomb attack while he was offering prayers. The rocket struck near the residence of Manipur's first Chief Minister, Mairembam Koireng Singh, located just 100 meters from the Indian National Army (INA) Museum, a historical site dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Eyewitnesses reported that the rocket appeared to have been launched from the hills, with the museum likely being the intended target.The victim, a member of the Meitei community, suffered fatal injuries from shrapnel that struck his head, resulting in a tragic scene as blood spilled onto the ground amidst his prayer offerings of leaves and fruit. Dressed in traditional white attire, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police reported that the rockets fired that morning had a range exceeding three kilometers.
