Escalating Violence in Manipur: Fresh Attacks Following Bishnupur Bombing

Manipur is witnessing a surge in violence, with new attacks reported in Jiribam just a day after a bomb incident in Bishnupur district. On Friday, a 70-year-old man lost his life, and at least five others sustained injuries due to improvised rockets fired at villages from nearby hills. These recent assaults follow a troubling pattern, as earlier this week, two individuals were killed, and several others were injured when crude bombs were dropped from drones on villages in Imphal West. In response to the escalating violence, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh condemned the acts as "terrorism" and assured that the state government would take serious measures to address these unprovoked attacks on the local population.
