According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the victims include two students and two teachers, though their identities have not yet been disclosed. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities have not confirmed any specific targets. Reports indicate that the shooter fired at least ten rounds during the incident.Eyewitnesses recounted horrifying moments as the shooting unfolded. Lyela Sayarath, a classmate of Gray, revealed that he left their algebra class early and returned with a firearm. When another student attempted to prevent him from entering, Gray reportedly moved to a neighboring classroom and began shooting.

Students described the chaos and fear that erupted in the school. Second-year student Alexsandra Romero recalled the panic when someone rushed into her classroom, urging students to take cover. "I can just remember my hands were shaking," she shared, adding that many were crying and desperately searching for their siblings.Julie Sandoval, another student, recounted hiding in a corner with her classmates, praying for safety while trying to contact friends and family. Meanwhile, Marques Coleman, a fellow student, noted seeing the attacker wielding a "big gun" before the chaos ensued as teachers attempted to barricade doors with desks.

Authorities received reports of the shooting around 10:20 AM local time. Sheriff Jud Smith described the attack as "pure evil," emphasizing the rapid response from law enforcement, including two school resource officers who were already on campus. The suspect surrendered without further incident.Colt Gray had previously come to the attention of the FBI in May 2023 due to anonymous tips about online threats related to a potential school shooting. Although the FBI interviewed Gray and his father, no further action was taken at that time.
